Hello,
I (adult male) am almost positive that a close friend of mine (adult female) was abused as a child. We have been friends for many years but she has never said more than a handful of words about it. I have never pressed her to talk, but I have also never explicitly told her that if she ever did want to talk to me about it she is welcome to do so. Should I say something like that? I want her to know that I am supportive, but I don't want to be intrusive or cause more harm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thank you.

Yes - let her know that you're willing to listen. Just don't insist that she share anything until she's ready.

I'd only caution you to be sure you are OK with just listening - there is no quick fix or great advice that makes everything better in one sentence or even several sentences.

Don't be offended if it takes a long time for her to open up - some of us haven't acknowledged to ourselves how hurt we are.

Friend, Ditto what Bricks said. I was torn up when I seen this, how kind.
